Barton Gellman is among the most critically honored nonfiction writers of his generation.
In early 2010, after paperback publication of his bestselling Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency, he left to begin his next book project and write occasional cover stories for Time magazine. He will soon inaugurate CounterSpy, an online column about digital privacy and security, and he is working with Spring Creek Productions ("Recount," "Blood Diamond") to adapt the Cheney book for a four-part HBO miniseries. He is based at New York University's Center on Law and Security, where he holds a senior research fellowship.
